This research aims to explore the effectiveness of active learning in enhancing Indonesian language skills at MI Irsyadul Athfal. Active learning is an educational approach that engages students in the learning process through activities such as discussions, problem-solving tasks, and collaborative projects, as opposed to traditional passive learning methods. The study focuses on how incorporating active learning techniques into Indonesian language lessons can improve students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The research was conducted in a classroom setting at MI Irsyadul Athfal, involving a group of students who participated in various active learning activities over a period of time. The study adopted a qualitative approach, using classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and an analysis of student performance before and after the intervention. The findings indicate that active learning significantly increased student engagement, motivation, and language proficiency. Students became more enthusiastic in participating in class activities and showed improved communication skills, both in written and spoken form. Additionally, the study found that students were better able to apply language concepts in real-life situations, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the Indonesian language. Based on the results, the study recommends integrating more active learning strategies into the curriculum at MI Irsyadul Athfal to further enhance the students language development. This approach not only supports the mastery of Indonesian language skills but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students. It is hoped that the findings of this research can contribute to the development of more engaging and effective language teaching practices in elementary schools.

Conclusion

The research demonstrates that active learning significantly enhances Indonesian language skills in students at MI Irsyadul Athfal.Implementation of active learning strategies led to increased student engagement, motivation, and proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.These findings suggest that integrating active learning into the curriculum is crucial for fostering a more effective and engaging language learning environment.

Future Research

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi efektivitas berbagai jenis aktivitas pembelajaran aktif yang spesifik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Indonesia pada siswa MI, misalnya dengan membandingkan efektivitas debat, simulasi, atau proyek berbasis masalah. Kedua, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan model pembelajaran aktif yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal atau budaya daerah, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih relevan dan bermakna bagi siswa. Ketiga, penelitian lanjutan perlu dilakukan untuk mengkaji dampak jangka panjang dari penerapan pembelajaran aktif terhadap perkembangan keterampilan berbahasa Indonesia siswa, termasuk kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan bahasa Indonesia secara efektif dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari dan pendidikan lanjutan. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam pengembangan praktik pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang lebih inovatif dan efektif di tingkat pendidikan dasar.
