Genre-based approach strongly emphasizes the relationship between text genres and their genres context (Hyon, 1996). The previous research Dirgeyasa (2016) shows that in Indonesian education, the word genre is a popular topic in teaching and learning English, particularly writing. This narrative inquiry study investigates students perception of the implementation of the Genre Based Approach Cycle through Padlet, which utilizes technology. Data was collected through open-ended interviews. The study found that almost all students felt helped by the implementation of the Genre Based Approach Cycle through Padlet in learning to write, viewing the use of technology as a new experience. The implementation of the Genre Based Approach through Padlet has implications for learning strategies and the evolution of learning media in writing.

The study concludes that students responded positively to the implementation of the Genre-Based Approach Cycle through Padlet, finding it helpful in improving their writing skills.The structured stages of the approach, including Building Knowledge, Modelling, Joint Construct, and Individual Construct, facilitated a deeper understanding of text structure and language features.Furthermore, the use of Padlet as a learning tool was well-received by students, enhancing their engagement and providing a flexible platform for learning.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan Padlet dalam konteks pembelajaran menulis genre yang berbeda, seperti laporan, surat, atau esai argumentatif. Kedua, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada dampak penggunaan Padlet terhadap motivasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menulis, serta bagaimana hal ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan keterampilan menulis mereka secara keseluruhan. Ketiga, penelitian dapat menyelidiki bagaimana guru dapat secara efektif mengintegrasikan Padlet ke dalam kurikulum menulis mereka, termasuk pengembangan materi pembelajaran yang sesuai dan strategi penilaian yang relevan. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang potensi Padlet sebagai alat pembelajaran yang inovatif dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran menulis di Indonesia.
