This study examines the handling of child sexual abuse cases at the Enrekang District Attorneys Office from the perspective of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach, data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation to evaluate the effectiveness of law enforcement. The results of the study show that the handling of the case has been in accordance with the applicable legal provisions and procedures, but still faces obstacles in proof, especially when the perpetrator has a close relationship with the victim or limited physical evidence. Islamic religious education plays an important role as a preventive effort through strengthening moral values and collective responsibility from an early age, which requires the involvement of families, communities, schools, law enforcement officials, and local governments. This study emphasizes the need for periodic evaluations to strengthen inter-institutional coordination, monitor victims psychological recovery, and assess the effectiveness of family, school, and community-based prevention.

The handling of child sexual abuse cases in Enrekang Regency follows a clear process, but faces challenges in evidentiary obstacles, particularly with close-perpetrator cases.Victim protection efforts are present but require optimization at the court level. The study highlights the importance of a multi-layered program evaluation strategy, integrating Islamic education values to strengthen prevention through moral-spiritual development, family responsibility, and community involvement.

Further research should explore the development of standardized protocols for gathering and assessing evidence in child sexual abuse cases, particularly those lacking physical evidence, to improve conviction rates and ensure justice for victims. Additionally, studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of various psychological intervention programs for child victims of sexual abuse, focusing on long-term recovery and preventing secondary trauma, and to identify best practices for culturally sensitive support. Finally, research should investigate the role of community-based Islamic education initiatives in fostering a protective environment for children, examining how religious values and teachings can be leveraged to prevent sexual abuse and promote responsible behavior among potential perpetrators, while also strengthening family and community support systems for vulnerable children.
