Mental health problems, especially in Generation Z, are currently an important issue to be addressed. This condition is caused by mental health being able to influence various aspects of life. This research method uses a Systematic Literature Review approach with the Prisma protocol, which focuses on five continents. The research results explained that there was an increase in cases of depression, anxiety, stress, and sleep disorders in Generation Z. This was influenced by several factors, such as excessive exposure to information on social media, fatigue from using social media, as well as academic stressors and social problems faced. Handling mental health problems can be done by providing mental health education, psychotherapy, social support, and managing the use of social media and gadgets.

The study reveals a concerning trend of increasing mental health disorders among Generation Z globally, driven by factors like the COVID-19 pandemic, social isolation, and excessive social media use.Effective management of these issues requires a multifaceted approach, encompassing mental health education, psychotherapy, and responsible social media engagement.Collaborative efforts between various stakeholders are crucial to develop comprehensive and sustainable mental health promotion programs for this vulnerable population.

Further research should investigate the long-term effects of prolonged social media use on the cognitive and emotional development of Generation Z, potentially employing longitudinal studies to track changes over time. Additionally, studies are needed to explore the effectiveness of culturally tailored mental health interventions for diverse subgroups within Generation Z, recognizing that experiences and needs vary significantly across different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Finally, research should focus on developing and evaluating innovative digital mental health tools and platforms specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by Generation Z, such as online bullying, academic pressure, and climate change anxiety, ensuring accessibility and affordability for all.
