This research aims to determine the effect of work commitment on employee performance, with work discipline as a mediating variable at PT. Permata Indah Rubaru. The study uses a sample of 35 individuals, chosen using the saturated sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires given directly to all employees. Analysis was performed using Smart PLS. The results indicate that work commitment does not have a significant impact on employee performance. However, work commitment does significantly influence work discipline, and work discipline has a significant impact on employee performance. Work discipline fully mediates the relationship between work commitment and employee performance.

The study concludes that work discipline positively and significantly affects employee performance at PT Permata Indah Rubaru.Furthermore, work commitment does not directly impact employee performance at the company.However, work commitment significantly influences work discipline, which in turn affects employee performance.Therefore, optimizing employee performance requires strengthening work commitment to improve work discipline.

Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi faktor-faktor lain yang mungkin memoderasi hubungan antara komitmen kerja, disiplin kerja, dan kinerja karyawan, seperti gaya kepemimpinan atau budaya organisasi. Selain itu, studi kualitatif dapat dilakukan untuk menggali lebih dalam persepsi karyawan mengenai komitmen kerja dan disiplin kerja di PT. Permata Indah Rubaru, sehingga dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif. Terakhir, penelitian longitudinal dapat dilakukan untuk melacak perubahan komitmen kerja, disiplin kerja, dan kinerja karyawan dari waktu ke waktu, serta untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola yang mungkin muncul. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang dinamika hubungan antara variabel-variabel tersebut dan memberikan rekomendasi yang lebih tepat untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan di perusahaan.
