Early childhood education forms the foundation of child development through play and parental support. Parental engagement, especially in the form of academic expectations, is essential for childrens school readiness and optimal development. This study aims to examine the effect of parental engagement on the classroom learning process of early childhood students at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education, Tanjung Sari II, Palembang. This quantitative research used questionnaires distributed to 24 respondents, with hypothesis testing conducted through a t-test. The results showed that parental engagement in early childhood learning was relatively high, with a mean score of 32.71 and a standard deviation of 3.56. Several indicators, such as parental participation and interaction, were categorized as very high, although aspects of creativity and learning stimulation still require improvement. The regression t-test analysis indicated a significant effect, with a significance value of 0.000 and a regression coefficient of 0.512. The R Square value of 0.537 indicates that parental engagement explains 53.7% of the variance in learning outcomes. Conclusion: Parents have a strong influence in supporting early childhood learning in the classroom.

Parental engagement has a strong and meaningful influence in supporting early childhood learning.The level of parental participation in childrens learning processes is considerably high, reflecting an active role in accompanying, guiding, and motivating their children.The analysis results indicate that the higher the parental engagement, the better the childrens academic performance, demonstrating a significant effect.

Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menggali lebih dalam mengenai faktor-faktor spesifik yang memengaruhi keterlibatan orang tua, seperti tingkat pendidikan orang tua, status sosial ekonomi, dan dukungan dari lingkungan sekitar. Selain itu, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan model intervensi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua, terutama bagi keluarga dengan sumber daya terbatas atau kendala waktu. Penelitian selanjutnya juga dapat mengeksplorasi dampak berbagai bentuk keterlibatan orang tua, seperti keterlibatan emosional, akademik, dan partisipasi dalam kegiatan sekolah, terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional dan kognitif anak usia dini. Studi komparatif antara berbagai pendekatan keterlibatan orang tua, misalnya pendekatan berbasis sekolah, berbasis rumah, dan berbasis komunitas, dapat memberikan wawasan berharga tentang strategi yang paling efektif dalam konteks yang berbeda. Terakhir, penelitian dapat meneliti bagaimana teknologi dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memfasilitasi komunikasi dan kolaborasi antara orang tua, guru, dan sekolah, sehingga meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua dalam proses pendidikan anak.
