This study examines Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a strategic instrument for shaping the religious character of the younger generation in the era of globalization. The rapid development of information technology and socio-cultural transformation has significantly influenced the moral and spiritual dimensions of youth life. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through critical analysis of books, scientific journals, and relevant regulations. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education plays a fundamental role in internalizing religious values through cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The implementation of exemplary teaching, religious habituation, integration of school religious culture, and contextual-digital approaches strengthens students moral awareness and spiritual resilience. The study concludes that strengthening Islamic Religious Education is essential for developing morally responsible and spiritually grounded youth capable of responding to global challenges.

Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas berbagai model pembelajaran PAI kontekstual yang responsif terhadap isu-isu kekinian seperti radikalisme dan intoleransi di kalangan generasi muda. Selain itu, studi komparatif mengenai implementasi PAI di berbagai negara dengan konteks sosio-kultural yang berbeda dapat memberikan wawasan berharga tentang praktik terbaik dalam pembentukan karakter religius. Terakhir, penelitian perlu difokuskan pada pengembangan instrumen evaluasi yang komprehensif untuk mengukur dampak PAI terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa secara holistik, tidak hanya terbatas pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga afektif dan psikomotorik, sehingga dapat memberikan rekomendasi yang lebih akurat dan terukur bagi peningkatan kualitas pendidikan agama Islam di masa depan. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam upaya membangun generasi muda yang beriman, bertakwa, berakhlak mulia, dan mampu menjadi agen perubahan positif dalam masyarakat.
