This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the influence of UI design and informative usefulness on Gen Zs purchase intention, focusing on the mediating role of attention span within in-feed video advertisements. Using Python-based bibliometric and text mining tools, this review analyzes trends, research gaps, and theoretical frameworks in studies published from 2018 to 2024. Results show a significant correlation between engaging UI, valuable content, and short attention spans in driving purchase behaviors among Gen Z. The study identifies key factors influencing user interaction and suggests directions for future empirical research.

The integration of engaging UI design and informative content creates a pathway for influencing Gen Zs purchase intention on platforms like TikTok.Attention span is a pivotal psychological construct mediating the link between stimulus and behavioral outcome.Future studies should empirically link UI components and informative content to neurocognitive attention metrics and actual purchasing behavior.

Future research should explore the direct link between specific UI features and neurocognitive attention metrics using tools like eye-tracking and EEG to validate hypothesized mechanisms. Investigating the impact of hyper-personalized in-feed videos, tailored via AI to user psychographics, could reveal whether such customization increases engagement time and conversion likelihood. Furthermore, research should address ethical considerations surrounding attention optimization in marketing, ensuring transparency and respecting consumer autonomy, and explore the potential of platform-specific analytics to bridge the gap between intention and conversion by providing real-time user interaction metrics. These investigations will contribute to a more nuanced understanding of Gen Zs purchasing behaviors in the context of short-form video content, offering actionable insights for marketers and interface designers.
