The ability to develop project-based e-modules for the Contextual Written Language Skills course is essential for students based on project-based learning. However, the learning pattern used is innovative learning, which can improve students skills and thinking abilities. This research focused on the presentation of discussion material without assignments or projects, and the systematics of preparing teaching materials and e-modules using project-based learning. The research used the Research and Development (RnD) model by Borg and Gall, consisting of six phases: data gathering, need analysis, material design, expert validation, revision, and final product. The results showed a need for digital learning resources in the Contextual Written Language Skills course, leading to the development of validated e-modules. Material expert validation scored 88.61%, and media expert validation scored 87.75%, both classified as very good, indicating the e-modules validity for use.

This research successfully developed a project-based e-module for the Contextual Written Language Skills course, addressing the identified need for digital learning resources. The e-module was validated by experts, receiving high scores in both material and media aspects, confirming its quality and suitability for use.The developed materials are recommended as supplementary resources to enhance student learning outcomes in the course.

Based on the findings, future research could explore the effectiveness of the developed e-module in improving students writing skills through a quasi-experimental study, comparing students using the e-module with those using traditional methods. Furthermore, research could investigate the impact of incorporating various interactive elements, such as gamification or virtual reality, into the e-module to enhance student engagement and motivation. Finally, a study could examine the feasibility of adapting this project-based e-module approach to other English language skills courses, such as speaking or listening, to determine its broader applicability and potential benefits for English language education programs. These investigations will contribute to a deeper understanding of how technology-enhanced learning can be effectively integrated into the curriculum to foster student success and prepare them for the demands of the 21st-century workforce.
