Future generations are a crucial pillar of society, destined to become leaders and drive societal development. Therefore, preparing the younger generation is essential, particularly through dayah educational institutions. As the oldest religious education institutions in Indonesia, dayahs face challenges adapting to the digital era, including preparing students for modern developments and fostering their role as agents of community development. This article employs qualitative research methods – observation and analysis of relevant documentation – to address these issues. The findings indicate that dayahs need to modernize by integrating technology and securing adequate resources. Incorporating religious moderation into the curriculum is also vital to cultivate tolerance, appreciation for diversity, and protection against misinformation disseminated through social media, thereby safeguarding societal unity.

Dayah education institutions play a crucial role in shaping future generations and contributing to community development.However, they face challenges in adapting to the digital era and addressing issues like radicalism and misinformation.Therefore, modernizing the education system, integrating religious moderation into the curriculum, and strengthening the institutions resources are essential to prepare students to become responsible and contributing members of society.

Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, perlu dilakukan studi mendalam mengenai efektivitas berbagai metode integrasi teknologi dalam kurikulum dayah, termasuk identifikasi platform dan aplikasi digital yang paling sesuai untuk mendukung pembelajaran agama dan pengembangan karakter. Kedua, penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk memahami bagaimana dayah dapat secara efektif menanamkan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama kepada santri, khususnya dalam menghadapi paparan konten radikal dan hoaks di media sosial. Penelitian ini dapat mengeksplorasi peran kyai dan tokoh agama dalam membentuk pandangan santri serta strategi untuk membangun ketahanan ideologis. Ketiga, penting untuk meneliti dampak program pelatihan dan pengembangan profesional bagi guru dan staf dayah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pemahaman tentang moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini dapat mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pelatihan spesifik dan mengevaluasi efektivitas berbagai model pelatihan yang tersedia, sehingga dayah dapat terus beradaptasi dengan tantangan zaman dan menghasilkan generasi muda yang beriman, berakhlak mulia, dan berkontribusi positif bagi masyarakat.
