The Christian mission in Indonesia faces significant challenges amid the countrys cultural, religious, and social diversity. With a majority Muslim population, it is crucial for the church to listen to both the voice of God and the voice of humanity in carrying out its mission. This study aims to explore how the Christian mission can be more effective by integrating these two aspects: listening to the voice of God through spiritual teaching and addressing the social needs of the community. The concept of a vulnerable mission, which prioritizes responsiveness to social and cultural challenges, forms the basis of this study. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews with church leaders, missionaries, and community members, as well as document analysis to understand the application of both aspects in the diverse Indonesian context. The research findings indicate that successful Christian missions in Indonesia are those that can integrate spiritual aspects with social empowerment, thereby strengthening the churchs relationship with the local community. The contribution of this research is the development of mission theory with a more inclusive and culturally sensitive approach. These findings are expected to provide insights for churches in Indonesia and similar countries in designing more adaptive, holistic, and relevant mission strategies.

The study highlights the importance of a vulnerable mission approach in Indonesia, emphasizing the need to listen to both Gods voice through spiritual teachings and the voices of the people by addressing their social needs. This integrated approach strengthens the churchs relationship with local communities and fosters more holistic change.Furthermore, the research underscores the significance of cultural sensitivity and adaptability in mission work within Indonesias diverse context, contributing to the development of a more inclusive mission theory.Ultimately, the findings offer valuable insights for churches in Indonesia and similar nations to design mission strategies that are responsive, holistic, and relevant.

Based on the findings, future research should explore the specific strategies churches can employ to effectively integrate spiritual teachings with tangible social programs that address the most pressing needs of Indonesian communities. Furthermore, a deeper investigation into the role of interfaith dialogue and collaboration in fostering a more inclusive and harmonious mission landscape is warranted, particularly given Indonesias religious diversity. Finally, research should focus on how technology can be leveraged to expand the reach of vulnerable missions, particularly in remote areas, while ensuring cultural sensitivity and avoiding the displacement of traditional community-building practices, ultimately aiming to create a more sustainable and impactful ministry that resonates with the unique context of Indonesia and beyond. This research should also investigate the long-term impact of these integrated missions on community development and spiritual growth, providing a comprehensive evaluation of their effectiveness and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
