A preliminary study conducted at MTS Salafiyah Syafiiyah Tebuireng revealed that eighth-grade students faced challenges in expanding their vocabulary using conventional methods. This research investigated the effectiveness of the board race game in improving students vocabulary comprehension. Employing a pre-experimental design with two treatment sessions, the study found a significant improvement in students vocabulary comprehension (p = 0.005 < 0.05). These results demonstrate that the board race game is an effective tool for teaching vocabulary to eighth-grade students at MTs Salafiyah Syafiiyah Tebuireng.

The research demonstrated that students initially exhibited difficulties in vocabulary acquisition.Following the implementation of the board race game, a notable improvement in students vocabulary mastery was observed.Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference in vocabulary proficiency before and after the intervention, indicating the effectiveness of the board race game as a teaching method.

Further research should explore the application of the board race game in diverse English language skills, such as grammar and writing, to determine its broader impact on language proficiency. Investigating the long-term retention of vocabulary learned through the board race game, perhaps through delayed post-tests, would provide valuable insights into its lasting effects. Additionally, studies could examine the effectiveness of the board race game in different educational contexts, such as varying class sizes or student demographics, to assess its adaptability and generalizability. These investigations will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the board race games potential as a versatile and effective pedagogical tool, building upon the current findings and addressing potential limitations to enhance its implementation in English language education.
