Internal CSR is an important part of corporate social responsibility. Although the survey results reveal that businesses with CSR practices are able to increase employee interest in the company and potential employees so that the benefits of CSR can be felt by businesses, CSR practices for employees are still neglected. This study aims to examine the effect of internal CSR on organizational commitment and the effect of organizational commitment on performance. This study was conducted on permanent employees of Aceh Islamic Banks, which amounts to 325 sample and the sampling technique used simple random sampling. Using a questionnaire as a research instrument with a self-administered method. PLS-SEM is a data analysis method used in this study with the Smartpls 3 analysis tool. The study found that internal CSR that is empowerment, skill development and work environment affect on organizational commitment but skill development has no significant effect on organizational commitment. Furthermore, organizational commitment have a significant effect on maqasid al sharia and job performance at Islamic banking in Aceh.

This study concludes that empowerment and the work environment significantly influence organizational commitment in Aceh Islamic banking.Organizational commitment, in turn, has a significant positive effect on both maqasid al sharia performance and job performance.However, skill development does not significantly affect organizational commitment.These findings highlight the importance of fostering a supportive and empowering work environment to enhance employee commitment and ultimately improve performance in Islamic banking.

Future research should expand the sample to include Islamic banks across Indonesia or Southeast Asia to enhance the generalizability of the findings. Longitudinal studies are recommended to capture the dynamic relationship between internal CSR, organizational commitment, and performance over time. Furthermore, exploring other dimensions of internal CSR beyond empowerment, skill development, and work environment, such as work-life balance and employee recognition, could provide a more comprehensive understanding of their impact on employee commitment and performance. Investigating the mediating role of employee engagement and the moderating effect of Islamic spirituality could also offer valuable insights into the mechanisms through which internal CSR influences organizational outcomes. Finally, researchers could explore alternative performance measures beyond maqasid al sharia and job performance, such as customer satisfaction and innovation, to gain a more holistic view of the benefits of internal CSR in Islamic banking.
