Currently, the world, including Indonesia, has entered the era of industrial revolution 4.0, characterized by increasing internet connectivity and the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT). Efforts to improve the quality of human resources through education are key to keeping pace with this development, achievable by optimizing the use of digitalization technology in education. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru implements web-based semester exams for student assessment. This study employs a qualitative approach. The results indicate that the implementation of web-based semester exams for history subjects at MAN 1 Pekanbaru involves four stages: planning, organization, implementation, and reporting. Inhibitory factors include power outages, network loss, and device issues. The impact of these exams on the effectiveness of historical learning assessment at MAN 1 Pekanbaru is economical, time-efficient, objective, and flexible.

The implementation of web-based semester exams at MAN 1 Pekanbaru aligns with the function of evaluation and maintains integrity.The process involves thorough planning, organization of personnel, execution of the exam, and reporting of results.The study identified supporting factors such as adequate resources and strong collaboration, alongside challenges like power outages and technical issues.Ultimately, these exams offer economic benefits, time efficiency, objective assessment, and ease of implementation.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak penggunaan web-based test terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran sejarah, dengan mempertimbangkan perbedaan karakteristik siswa. Kedua, studi komparatif dapat dilakukan antara efektivitas web-based test dengan metode ujian konvensional dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sejarah siswa, dengan mengendalikan variabel-variabel yang mungkin mempengaruhi hasil belajar. Ketiga, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan model pelatihan yang lebih efektif bagi guru dalam mengimplementasikan web-based test, termasuk strategi mengatasi kendala teknis dan memastikan keamanan data siswa. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas penilaian pembelajaran sejarah di era digital, serta memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi sekolah dalam mengoptimalkan penggunaan teknologi dalam proses evaluasi pembelajaran.
