This study aims to improve students process skills through the implementation of guided inquiry learning assisted by PhET Simulation at SMP Lab school UNESA 1. This study is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis uses N-Gain calculations to measure the improvement of students process skills. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of guided inquiry learning assisted by PhET Simulation is able to improve students science process skills with an average N-Gain of 0.48 in the medium category. A total of 22 students experienced an increase in the medium category, 8 students in the low category, and 2 students in the high category. This study shows that the combination of guided inquiry learning models with PhET Simulation is effective in improving students science process skills on temperature and heat materials.

The implementation of guided inquiry learning assisted by PhET Simulation can significantly improve the science process skills of seventh grade junior high school students on the topic of temperature and heat.An average increase in N-Gain of 0.48 in the moderate category indicates that the combination of the guided inquiry learning model with interactive simulation technology can have a positive impact on students ability to carry out scientific investigation processes.The study highlights the effectiveness of this method in enhancing conceptual understanding and developing essential science process skills for the digital age.

Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang dibantu oleh PhET Simulation pada berbagai materi IPA dan tingkat kelas yang berbeda, guna memperluas generalisasi temuan penelitian ini. Selain itu, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan instrumen penilaian keterampilan proses sains yang lebih valid dan reliabel, yang dapat mengukur secara komprehensif berbagai aspek keterampilan proses sains siswa. Selanjutnya, studi komparatif dapat dilakukan untuk membandingkan efektivitas model inkuiri terbimbing dengan model pembelajaran lain, seperti pembelajaran berbasis proyek atau pembelajaran berbasis masalah, dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang berharga bagi guru dan pengembang kurikulum dalam merancang pembelajaran IPA yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa di era digital. Dengan demikian, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sains di Indonesia dan menghasilkan generasi muda yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan ilmiah yang mumpuni.
