The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-esteem and interpersonal intelligence on teacher work motivation at SMP N 1 Mesuji, Mesuji Regency. This research is quantitative descriptive research. In this study the population amounted to 37 teachers at SMP N 1 Mesuji. Data collection using questionnaires. Data analysis using multiple linear regression with hypothesis testing t test and f test. The results showed that there was an influence of self-esteem on teacher work motivation in SMP N 1 Mesuji Mesuji Regency, proven tcount 6.708> ttable 1.689. there is an influence of interpersonal intelligence on teacher work motivation in SMP N 1 Mesuji Mesuji Regency, proven tcount 2.882 > ttable 1.689. There is an influence of self-esteem and interpersonal intelligence together on teacher work motivation in SMP N 1 Mesuji Mesuji Regency, this can be proven by the Fcount value of 42.944> Ftable 3.27. The contribution of self-esteem and interpersonal intelligence to teacher work motivation in SMP N 1 Mesuji Mesuji Regency is 71.6%.

Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that self-esteem has a significant influence on teacher work motivation at SMP N 1 Mesuji.Additionally, interpersonal intelligence also significantly affects teacher work motivation.Furthermore, both self-esteem and interpersonal intelligence together have a significant impact on teacher work motivation.The Coefficient of Determination (R²) value of 71.6% indicates that the combined contribution of self-esteem and interpersonal intelligence to teacher work motivation is 71.4% is influenced by other factors not analyzed in this study.

Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menggali faktor-faktor lain yang memengaruhi motivasi kerja guru di SMP N 1 Mesuji, seperti gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, iklim kerja sekolah, atau dukungan sosial dari rekan kerja. Penelitian ini dapat menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang pengalaman dan persepsi guru terkait motivasi kerja mereka. Selain itu, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan intervensi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan self-esteem dan interpersonal intelligence guru, misalnya melalui pelatihan atau mentoring. Efektivitas intervensi ini kemudian dapat dievaluasi melalui studi eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol. Terakhir, penelitian lanjutan dapat meneliti bagaimana motivasi kerja guru berkorelasi dengan kinerja siswa dan kualitas pembelajaran di SMP N 1 Mesuji, sehingga dapat memberikan rekomendasi yang lebih komprehensif untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini penting untuk dilakukan karena motivasi kerja guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang efektif dan menyenangkan bagi siswa.
