Children with intellectual disabilities experience cognitive limitations that affect their ability to perform self-care tasks, including maintaining personal hygiene. This study aims to analyze the effect of using quiet book media on improving personal hygiene skills among children with intellectual disabilities at SLB C and C1 Yakult Purwokerto. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach and a quantitative method was used. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. A total of 30 students were selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed a significant improvement in personal hygiene skills after the intervention, with a p-value of <0.001. The quiet book media proved effective in enhancing childrens behavioral skills in self-care. Therefore, this media can serve as a practical alternative learning tool to support the independence of children with intellectual disabilities, particularly in fulfilling personal care needs.

The study concluded that the use of Quiet Book media significantly improved personal hygiene behavior skills among children with intellectual disabilities at SLB C and C1 Yakut Purwokerto. The implementation of Quiet Book media demonstrated a consistent enhancement in students ability to perform self-care more independently. This finding supports the effectiveness of Quiet Book media as an interactive learning tool tailored to the specific needs of children with intellectual disabilities.

Further research should explore the long-term effects of using Quiet Book media on the sustained independence of children with intellectual disabilities in performing personal hygiene tasks. Additionally, studies could investigate the effectiveness of adapting the Quiet Book content to address specific hygiene challenges faced by children with varying levels of intellectual disability, ensuring a more personalized learning experience. Finally, research is needed to evaluate the feasibility and impact of integrating Quiet Book media into broader educational programs and involving parents in the learning process to reinforce hygiene habits at home and in the community, ultimately promoting greater self-sufficiency and well-being for these children. These investigations should consider the potential for Quiet Book media to be utilized as a preventative measure to reduce the risk of illness and social isolation associated with poor hygiene practices, contributing to a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
