Women in Meto culture have a uniqueness that can only be understood if they understand the construction of Meto culture. In general, many people always associate womens issues with patriarchal culture whose assumptions are oppressive and unfair to women. Women are often seen as marginalized. This paper aims to build a new understanding of womens identity in Meto culture that is more positive in patriarchal culture. There are discussions of womens identity in the Meto culture and its approach through Christian education. This positive understanding is then formed in dialogue with the appropriate biblical texts. Furthermore, the process of seeding this understanding can be carried out in the Christian education space with the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model. This research was carried out using a literature study that is relevant to the issue of womens identity in the Meto culture and the results found as content in the Christian education space are that the identity of women in the Meto culture is unique, relational, collective, and cosmic.

The paper concludes that Christian education is a crucial space for fostering a new understanding of womens identity within the Meto culture. This understanding, rooted in local wisdom and informed by biblical principles, can empower women to navigate patriarchal structures and global capitalism.Utilizing the Contextual Teaching and Learning model, educators can effectively instill values of uniqueness, relationality, collectivity, and cosmic connection, ultimately strengthening womens capacity and promoting positive change within the community.

Further research should explore the practical implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model in Meto communities, specifically examining its effectiveness in challenging patriarchal norms and empowering women. Additionally, a comparative study could investigate how similar cultural contexts in other regions address gender inequality through indigenous knowledge and Christian education. Finally, research is needed to understand the long-term impact of this educational approach on womens leadership roles and participation in decision-making processes within both the church and broader society. These studies should involve direct engagement with Meto women to ensure their voices and experiences are central to the research process, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing the complex challenges they face. The goal is to develop culturally relevant and sustainable strategies for promoting gender equality and empowering women to fully realize their potential within their communities and beyond, building upon the foundation laid by this research and contributing to a more just and equitable future for all.
