Gen Z has several shortcomings and advantages that, if not addressed properly, can cause problems. This study aims to find simple ways to help Gen Z in making decisions that will always be associated with moral values and faith in the three stages of human existence according to Søren Aabye Kierkegaard. This study uses a qualitative method by looking at written data, describing and concluding to gain additional insights. The study shows that instilling moral values and faith in oneself is very important, involving collaboration between family, education, religion, society and the state. Its implementation requires exemplary behavior and consistency from the relevant parties. Kierkegaard said that humans make their existential leaps in three stages, namely: aesthetic, ethical and religious. The aesthetic stage ignores moral and religious values because it focuses on self-satisfaction. The ethical stage accepts and carries out moral or legal demands and remains steadfast even though life is at stake. The religious stage does what God commands even though it is contrary to moral or legal values. Gen Z must be given the opportunity to make important decisions in life so that those decisions are not at the aesthetic stage but at the ethical and even religious stage. There are not much researches related to the strengths or weaknesses of Gen Z in maintaining moral values and faith. Through more up-to-date approach patterns and personal experiences, Gen Z will make an “existential leap to the ethical and even religious stage.

Instilling moral values and faith in Gen Z is crucial, requiring collaboration between family, education, religion, society, and the state, alongside exemplary behavior and consistency.Kierkegaards three stages of existence – aesthetic, ethical, and religious – highlight the importance of guiding Gen Z towards ethical and religious decision-making, rather than solely focusing on self-satisfaction.Further research is needed to understand Gen Zs strengths and weaknesses in upholding moral values and faith, enabling the development of more effective approaches to foster their ethical and spiritual growth.

Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi yang efektif dalam menumbuhkan nilai-nilai moral dan keagamaan pada Gen Z, dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik unik mereka sebagai digital native dan pengguna media sosial yang aktif. Selain itu, studi komparatif dapat dilakukan untuk membandingkan efektivitas berbagai pendekatan pendidikan karakter di berbagai konteks budaya dan agama, guna menemukan praktik terbaik yang dapat diadaptasi secara luas. Terakhir, penelitian perlu menggali lebih dalam mengenai peran keluarga, sekolah, dan komunitas dalam membentuk identitas moral dan spiritual Gen Z, serta bagaimana kolaborasi antara ketiga elemen ini dapat dioptimalkan untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangan nilai-nilai positif pada generasi muda. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih komprehensif tentang bagaimana mempersiapkan Gen Z untuk menjadi individu yang bertanggung jawab, berintegritas, dan berkontribusi positif bagi masyarakat.
