Education does not only focus on academic aspects, but also has an important role in shaping the character and moral values of students. One form of character education in the religious field can be realized through Tahfidzul Quran extracurricular activities. However, the implementation of this activity at SMPN 2 Kemlagi often experiences several obstacles such as learning methods that are still monotonous and differences between students interests and abilities in memorization that cannot be ignored. The research was conducted with the aim of describing the application of differentiated learning in extracurricular Tahfidzul Quran as well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in its application. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. After in-depth analysis, the results show that the implementation of differentiated learning has been carried out effectively, by adjusting teaching strategies based on the readiness, interests and learning styles of each student. This is reflected in the learning practices carried out by the mentor teacher through the application of content, process and product differentiation. The factors that support success include student mapping, adequate facilities, and support from the school environment and parents. Meanwhile, obstacles that arise include time constraints, differences in ability and lack of motivation from some students.

The implementation of differentiated learning is done through a structured approach that considers students personal learning needs.The mentor teacher applies the principle of differentiation by adjusting learning strategies based on the level of readiness, interest and learning style of each student.This is reflected in the learning practices carried out by the mentor teacher through the application of content, process and product differentiation.The successful implementation of differentiated learning is influenced by several supporting factors, including learner mapping, student profiling, adequate facilities, student learning motivation, and external support from the principal, fellow teachers and parents.However, the implementation of differentiated learning is also inseparable from various inhibiting factors, such as time constraints, differences in student abilities and lack of motivation from some students.

Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menggali lebih dalam mengenai strategi yang paling efektif dalam mengatasi kendala waktu dalam implementasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Tahfidzul Quran. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan bahwa setiap siswa, tanpa terkecuali, mendapatkan perhatian yang optimal sesuai dengan kebutuhan belajar mereka. Selain itu, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan model pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang lebih adaptif, yang mampu mengakomodasi perbedaan kemampuan dan motivasi siswa secara lebih komprehensif. Model ini perlu mempertimbangkan penggunaan teknologi dan sumber daya digital untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa dan meningkatkan efisiensi waktu. Terakhir, penelitian dapat dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi peran orang tua dan masyarakat dalam mendukung implementasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di sekolah, termasuk bagaimana meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi mereka dalam proses pendidikan anak-anak mereka. Dengan melibatkan seluruh pemangku kepentingan, diharapkan kualitas pendidikan agama Islam, khususnya dalam bidang Tahfidzul Quran, dapat terus ditingkatkan dan memberikan manfaat yang optimal bagi perkembangan siswa.
