It was proven that the mean score of the students writing in experimental class was 78.19 while the mean score of the students writing in control class was 72.14. The t-test result in the research was 2.32 and the t-table is 2.02. It meant that t-test score was higher than the t-table. Based on the research findings, it could be concluded that the use of eclectic method was effective to teach writing for the eighth semester students of the Nursing Department, Faculty of Health, Harapan Bangsa University.

Based on the result of the hypothesis testing, the finding of this research is that the eclectic method is more effective than the scientific approach to teach academic writing. This study was an experimental study conducted to determine the effectiveness of the eclectic method to teach academic writing to eighth-semester students of Nursing Science. The eclectic method combines various approaches and methods tailored to student needs and learning objectives, encouraging student activity and enthusiasm.

Further research could investigate the optimal combination of eclectic methods for different academic writing genres, such as persuasive or critical essays, to determine if specific techniques are more effective for certain writing tasks. Additionally, studies could explore the long-term impact of eclectic method instruction on students writing skills beyond the immediate post-test assessment, tracking their performance in subsequent courses or professional settings. Finally, research is needed to examine how the eclectic method can be effectively integrated with technology-enhanced learning tools, such as online writing platforms or automated feedback systems, to personalize instruction and provide students with more individualized support. These investigations would build upon the current findings and contribute to a more nuanced understanding of how to best support students academic writing development.
