The purpose of this study is to evaluate teachers responses to curriculum changes and their impact on the teaching and learning activities at SMA Negeri 7 Prabumulih. Curriculum change is one aspect of the dynamics of the educational system that requires readiness and adjustment from educators who play an active role in the field. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving several teachers from various subject areas at the school. The findings show that teachers responses to curriculum changes are diverse, ranging from positive responses such as enthusiasm and readiness to adapt to negative responses such as confusion and rejection, caused by a lack of socialization and training. Some teachers faced challenges in understanding the content of the new curriculum and in applying a competency-based approach to learning. The consequences of these responses are apparent in the pedagogical approaches employed, the attainment of educational goals, and the students motivation to learn. This study suggests the necessity for ongoing training, rigorous mentoring, and efficient communication between policymakers and curriculum implementers to guarantee effective curriculum implementation and a beneficial influence on the quality of learning in educational institutions.

Based on the results of the analysis, teachers at SMA Negeri 7 Prabumulih have generally adapted positively to recent curriculum changes.The key findings indicate that while understanding and readiness vary with teaching experience, the overall teacher response is characterized by a good grasp of the new content, a constructive attitude, and progressive adaptation in teaching methods.School management played a pivotal role through active mentoring, regular In-House Training (IHT), and by fostering a supportive climate.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan yang dapat dilakukan. Pertama, perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk menginvestigasi dampak jangka panjang dari strategi adaptasi yang diterapkan oleh guru terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dapat menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan mengumpulkan data nilai siswa sebelum dan sesudah implementasi kurikulum baru. Kedua, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan model pelatihan guru yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan guru di lapangan. Model pelatihan ini perlu mempertimbangkan konteks lokal dan melibatkan guru sebagai agen perubahan aktif dalam proses pelatihan. Ketiga, penelitian lanjutan dapat mengeksplorasi peran teknologi dalam mendukung adaptasi guru terhadap perubahan kurikulum. Penelitian ini dapat mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis teknologi yang paling efektif dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran mandiri guru dan kolaborasi antar guru, serta mengkaji tantangan dan peluang dalam implementasi teknologi tersebut. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia dan memastikan bahwa perubahan kurikulum dapat diimplementasikan secara efektif dan berkelanjutan.
