Workload is a major challenge in human resource management, especially in modern industrial environments. The imbalance of workload among production operators at PT Pertamina EP Tambun Field can reduce productivity, operational efficiency, and employee welfare. This study aims to analyze the workload of operators using the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method to provide an accurate assessment. The analysis showed that all operators at the gathering station workstation experience excessive workload conditions, with FTE values ranging from 1.285 to 1.389, while operators at the gas station well and pipeline station had FTE values within normal limits (1.013–1.028). The workload imbalance also affects operator performance, particularly at the gathering station, which exhibited a lower average performance value compared to other stations. As a solution, a workload recalculation was performed after adding one operator to each gathering station unit, resulting in FTE values within the normal range and indicating an improvement in work distribution and potential for increased employee performance.

Analisis menggunakan metode FTE menunjukkan bahwa operator di stasiun pengumpulan mengalami beban kerja berlebih, sehingga nilai kinerja mereka rendah.Penambahan satu operator per unit stasiun pengumpulan mengurangi beban kerja sehingga nilai FTE berada dalam batas normal.Dengan demikian, distribusi tenaga kerja yang seimbang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kepuasan kerja operator.

Penelitian lanjutan dapat menyelidiki bagaimana variasi beban kerja mempengaruhi kesehatan mental operator dengan menggunakan alat ukur psikologis standar; serta mengembangkan model prediksi beban kerja berbasis data real‑time yang terintegrasi dengan sistem SCADA, sehingga PT Pertamina dapat menyesuaikan alokasi tenaga secara dinamis; dan menerapkan studi intervensi longitudinal untuk menilai dampak penambahan operator pada indikator kinerja keseluruhan dan kesetiaan karyawan di industri minyak dan gas.
