Learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a lesson that helps students learn the theory that linked to real life. This study focused on learning the course material macroeconomic 2 on Implementation of the IS-LM model. Application of learning models of CTL are intended to improve the understanding of the students in learning subject matter macroeconomic 2 on Application of Model IS-LM. So far, the biggest problem faced by students is that they have not been able to connect between what they learn and how that knowledge can be used. Therefore, there should be the effort of professors to improve the understanding of the students in learning the material implementation of IS-LM model through learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), where and lecture role as motivator and facilitator help the student learning process goes well. This research is a class action, which includes four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was conducted in the fourth semester students majoring in economics development economics faculty UMSU the number of students 50 people, fourth semester / A / IESP as many as 28 people and fourth semester / B / IESP as many as 22 people. Data collection techniques in this study is documentation, observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. Technical analysis of the data in this study is a descriptive statistical data analysis of quantitative and qualitative. Based on the test results, there is increasing students understanding of the material implementation of IS-LM model in each cycle. The average value in the first cycle for the fourth semester / A / IESP reached 76.16 and the second cycle is 91.88. Mastery learning in the first cycle is 57.1% and the second cycle is 98.22%. The average value in the first cycle for fourth semester / B / IESP reached 76.25 and the second cycle is 97.95. Mastery learning in the first cycle is 54.5% and the second cycle is 97.73%. Increased understanding of the students followed by increased activity. The conclusion of this study is the students understanding increased with applied learning model CTL in faculty UMSU economic the 4th semester student majoring development. Researchers suggest that professors use in the CTL learning model learning course material application of IS-LM model in macroeconomic 2 courses and lecturers should earnestly to guide students in learning.

Penerapan model pembelajaran CTL meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi penerapan model IS-LM pada mata kuliah ekonomi makro 2.Observasi, kuisioner, dan tes menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas dan pemahaman mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran.Dosen disarankan untuk terus menggunakan model CTL dan membimbing mahasiswa dengan sungguh-sungguh dalam proses pembelajaran.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas model CTL pada mata kuliah ekonomi makro lainnya atau pada mata kuliah dengan tingkat kesulitan yang berbeda. Kedua, penelitian dapat difokuskan pada pengembangan instrumen evaluasi yang lebih komprehensif untuk mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep-konsep ekonomi makro secara mendalam, tidak hanya pada penerapan model IS-LM. Ketiga, penelitian dapat mengeksplorasi pengaruh faktor-faktor lain, seperti gaya belajar mahasiswa atau karakteristik dosen, terhadap efektivitas penerapan model CTL. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang lebih signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran ekonomi makro di perguruan tinggi, serta membantu mahasiswa untuk lebih memahami dan mengaplikasikan konsep-konsep ekonomi dalam kehidupan nyata. Dengan demikian, diharapkan lulusan ekonomi memiliki kemampuan analisis yang lebih baik dan siap menghadapi tantangan ekonomi yang kompleks di masa depan.
