Children who are victims of divorce from their parents need to have the ability to be resilient to get back on their feet and move back towards better conditions. In addition, they also need the ability to regulate and control their emotions to prevent the development of negative feelings towards their parents. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of emotional regulation on resilience in early adult women who are victims of parental divorce. The method used is quantitative, using correlational techniques. The sampling techniques used were purposive sampling and snowball sampling (N = 102). The research instruments used were modifications of the Emotion Regulation Scale and the CD-RISC Scale. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. Hypothesis testing uses simple linear regression. The results of the statistical analysis showed an R2 value of .839. So, it can be concluded that emotion regulation is a predictor of resilience in early adult women who are victims of parental divorce.

The study concludes that emotion regulation significantly predicts resilience in early adult women who have experienced parental divorce. This finding underscores the importance of emotional regulation skills in helping these individuals cope with and recover from the challenges associated with parental divorce. The results highlight the need for interventions aimed at enhancing emotional regulation abilities in this population to foster greater resilience and well-being.

Further research should explore the specific emotional regulation strategies employed by early adult women who have experienced parental divorce and how these strategies contribute to their resilience. Additionally, investigating the role of social support networks and family dynamics in moderating the relationship between emotional regulation and resilience would provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing well-being in this population. Finally, future studies could examine the effectiveness of interventions designed to enhance emotional regulation skills and promote resilience among early adult women navigating the aftermath of parental divorce, potentially incorporating culturally sensitive approaches to address diverse experiences and needs. These investigations should consider qualitative methods to gain deeper insights into the lived experiences of these individuals and inform the development of targeted support programs.
