Empathy training based on Bugis Makassar peaceful culture to improve students peaceful personality. This study examines the effect of Empathy training technique based on Bugis Makassar peaceful culture on students low peaceful personality characterized by inability to forgive, weak emotional control, and lack of empathy. The research novelty lies in integrating Bugis Makassar local wisdom Sipakatau, Sipakainge, and Sipakalebbi into empathy training. Using quasi-experimental design, 18 seventh-grade students were divided into experimental and control groups. Intervention was conducted through group counseling integrating three cultural values. Data were collected using peaceful personality scale and analyzed statistically. Results showed significant improvement from low to high category, while control group remained unchanged. This culturally-based technique provides school counselors an alternative approach to enhance students peaceful personality and prevent conflicts. The research significance highlights the importance of integrating local wisdom into guidance and counseling curriculum for meaningful character education.

The study concludes that empathy training based on the peaceful culture of Bugis Makassar significantly improves the peaceful personality of seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Makassar.This approach, integrating local wisdom, offers a novel and effective alternative to Western-based methods.The findings underscore the importance of incorporating local cultural values into guidance and counseling programs to foster meaningful character development and provide practical recommendations for school counselors and policymakers.

Future research should explore the long-term effects of this empathy training program through longitudinal studies with larger and more diverse student populations. Additionally, investigations could focus on adapting and implementing similar culturally-based interventions in other regions of Indonesia, leveraging different local wisdom traditions to address specific community needs. Finally, studies could examine the impact of integrating these cultural values not only in counseling settings but also within broader school curricula and family education programs to create a more holistic approach to character development and conflict prevention, ultimately fostering a more peaceful and harmonious learning environment for all students.
