Problems that occur in the field show that the performance of teachers in several Aliyah Madrasah in Tangerang Regency is still not optimal, which is reflected in the low discipline in the implementation of tasks, lack of innovation in learning methods, and the achievement of student learning outcomes that are not in accordance with the set educational quality standards. This condition indicates the existence of managerial and leadership factors of madrasah heads that need attention, considering the strategic role of madrasah heads as educational leaders in mobilizing all school resources to achieve educational goals, this study aims to analyze the contribution of leadership management to the governance of Islamic educational institutions by focusing on its influence on teacher performance and education quality. In the research conducted in this madrasah, a quantitative method was used with a survey research design on 85 teachers from three Aliyah Madrasah in Tangerang Regency. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire, then analyzed through multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software version 26. The results of the study revealed that the leadership style that is oriented towards change and development of madrasah heads has a positive influence on teacher performance (β=0.458; p<0.01) and quality of education (β=0.512; p<0.01). The managerial competence of madrasah heads also contributes significantly to the effectiveness of madrasah management (β=0.392; p<0.01). These findings affirm the importance of increasing the leadership capacity of madrasah heads through continuous training and strengthening of performance-based managerial systems to encourage the creation of quality education.

The study concludes that transformational leadership and managerial competence are crucial determinants in enhancing teacher performance and the quality of education.Transformational leadership positively influences teacher performance through empowerment, inspiration, and intellectual stimulation, while managerial competence plays a vital role in creating an effective and efficient management system. The combined influence of these two leadership aspects demonstrates a stronger impact than their individual effects, creating an optimal synergy for improving teacher performance and overall educational quality. Therefore, the development of both transformational leadership and managerial competence should be prioritized in efforts to improve the quality of education in madrasas.

Based on the research findings, several avenues for future research emerge. Firstly, investigating the role of organizational culture and school climate as moderating variables in the relationship between leadership styles and teacher performance could provide a more nuanced understanding of the dynamics at play. Secondly, exploring the impact of specific training programs designed to enhance the transformational leadership skills of madrasah heads, coupled with a longitudinal study to assess long-term effects on teacher motivation and student outcomes, would be valuable. Finally, a comparative study examining the effectiveness of different leadership approaches in madrasas with varying levels of resources and contextual challenges could identify best practices adaptable to diverse settings. These research directions, building upon the current studys insights, can contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of effective leadership in Islamic education and inform evidence-based strategies for improving educational quality. Further research could also explore the integration of digital technologies in enhancing leadership effectiveness and teacher performance within the madrasah context, considering the increasing importance of technology in modern education. This could involve investigating the use of data analytics to inform leadership decision-making and personalize professional development opportunities for teachers, ultimately fostering a more responsive and adaptive educational system.
