River water is widely used for various domestic, urban, agricultural and industrial purposes. One of the parameters that are very important to know the quality of clean water is the content of dissolved heavy metals. The writing of a literature review in this journal aims to identify heavy metals in river water from various river locations as indicators of river water pollution. The research method used in conducting this study is a descriptive method, meaning research that describes a certain object and explains things related to or systematically describes the facts or characteristics of a certain population factually and carefully. The data collection technique in this study uses a documentation method, namely data collection through written documents. In this study, the data obtained through documents collected in the scopus and SINTA databases and processed so that they are relevant to the object of research. Based on the results of research on several references referred to in this journal, it can be concluded that there has been a decrease in water quality in several water sources such as the Halda River, Subin River, Shitalakshya River (fish indicators), Way Umpu River, dug well water in the Banjar Suwung Batan Kendal Landfill Area, South Denpasar which is indicated by the presence of heavy metal Pb (Lead) in the water that exceeds the required threshold. As for the Solwezi and Kifubba Rivers, the Baturusa River Estuary, the Deli River and the Citarum River upstream of the Pb concentration is below the required threshold.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada beberapa referensi yang dirujuk pada jurnal ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah terjadi penurunan kualitas air pada beberapa sumber air seperti Sungai Halda, Sungai Subin, Sungai Shitalakshya (indikator ikan), Sungai Way Umpu, air sumur gali di Kawasan TPA Banjar Suwung Batan Kendal Denpasar Selatan yang ditunjukkan dengan keberadaan logam berat Pb (Timbal) di dalam air yang melebihi ambang batas yang dipersyaratkan.Sementara untuk Sungai Solwezi dan Kifubwa, Estuari Sungai Baturusa, Sungai Deli dan Sungai Citarum hulu konsentrasi Pb berada dibawah ambang batas yang dipersyaratkan.Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pemantauan kualitas air sungai secara berkala untuk mendeteksi keberadaan logam berat.Selain itu, diperlukan upaya pengendalian pencemaran yang lebih efektif dari berbagai sumber, seperti limbah industri dan pertanian, untuk menjaga kualitas air sungai dan melindungi kesehatan masyarakat.
Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih mendalam mengenai sumber-sumber spesifik pencemaran timbal di sungai-sungai yang teridentifikasi mengalami pencemaran, termasuk identifikasi industri atau aktivitas pertanian yang berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kadar timbal. Kedua, studi tentang dampak jangka panjang paparan timbal terhadap kesehatan masyarakat di sekitar sungai-sungai tercemar perlu dilakukan, dengan fokus pada kelompok rentan seperti anak-anak dan ibu hamil. Ketiga, penelitian mengenai efektivitas berbagai metode remediasi untuk menghilangkan timbal dari air sungai, seperti penggunaan bioadsorben atau teknologi filtrasi, dapat memberikan solusi praktis untuk mengatasi masalah pencemaran ini. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang lebih komprehensif dan mendukung upaya perlindungan kualitas air sungai serta kesehatan masyarakat.
