The role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in community empowerment programs through the development of Trigona bee cultivation (Kelulut Bees) in Tanah Datar Village, Muara Badak District is an effort to improve community welfare by utilizing existing local potential. The biodiversity of tropical forests in Indonesia, including non-timber forest products (NTFPs) and undervalued, neglected forest commodities, or small forest commodities, plays an important role in the livelihoods of communities living around forests. One of them is in Tanah Datar Village, Kutai Kartanegara, which is the location PT Pertamina EP Sangatta Field – Lapangan Semberah. The forest area around this area is a habitat that provides a food source for the kelulut or trigona honey bee. Honey bees, especially kelulut bees, can be categorized as a non-timber forest product that has the potential to be developed. This is what PT Pertamina EP Sangatta Field – Lapangan Semberah is trying to develop through the Pengembangan Petani Madu Sari Alam Semberah (TAMU SARAH) CSR Program. The purpose of this research is to find out the efforts made by the Company in empowering the community based on location potential in Tanah Datar Village. The method used is descriptive qualitative through analysis of documents owned by the company. The Pengembangan Petani Madu Sari Alam Semberah (TAMU SARAH) CSR program has had a real impact on the people of the Tanah Datar Village area in the form of improving the economy of the beneficiaries because the honey harvest has economic value. From a social perspective, the various activities increase social interaction and foster close social cohesion between beneficiaries. Meanwhile, from an environmental aspect, the Kelulut honey bee cultivation system requires flowers as pollen producers for food, indirectly creating vegetation that is beneficial to the environment.

The CSR program of PT Pertamina EP Sangatta Field – Lapangan Semberah demonstrates a commitment to fulfilling community needs in economic, social, and environmental aspects.The program focuses on empowering the local community through Trigona honey bee cultivation, leveraging the areas local potential.Despite facing challenges such as marketing issues and product innovation, the program has successfully improved the livelihoods of local farmers and fostered social cohesion.

Further research should investigate the potential for developing standardized quality control measures for Trigona honey production to enhance market access and competitiveness. Additionally, studies could explore the feasibility of establishing a cooperative among local beekeepers to facilitate collective marketing and bargaining power. Finally, research is needed to assess the long-term ecological impact of large-scale Trigona bee cultivation on local flora and fauna, ensuring the sustainability of the program and the surrounding ecosystem. These studies should involve participatory approaches, actively engaging local communities in the research process to ensure relevance and ownership of the findings. The integration of traditional ecological knowledge with scientific methods could provide valuable insights into sustainable beekeeping practices and biodiversity conservation. This holistic approach will contribute to the long-term resilience of the local economy and the preservation of the regions natural heritage, building upon the existing CSR initiatives and fostering a more sustainable and equitable future for the community.
