This study aims to develop a conceptual model of organizational dynamics of Islamic educational institutions grounded in Islamic ecotheology. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), publications from 2010 to 2025 were examined across major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, SAGE, DOAJ, SINTA, GARUDA, and Moraref. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 framework and resulted in the inclusion of 32 eligible articles. The findings reveal that ecological transformation within Islamic educational institutions relies on the coherence of four interrelated elements: internalization of ecotheological values within institutional vision and strategy, prophetic-transformational leadership that drives organizational change, structural and policy frameworks that institutionalize sustainability principles, and a participatory organizational culture that cultivates an ecological habitus among institutional members. These elements interact dynamically to shape sustainable institutional practices. The proposed conceptual model contributes theoretically to the discourse on sustainable Islamic educational management and provides practical guidance for pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic higher education institutions in their transition toward becoming Islamic Green Institutions.

The study demonstrates that Islamic ecotheology serves as the foundational normative basis for environmental initiatives within Islamic educational institutions.Effective ecological transformation necessitates the integration of ecotheological values with prophetic-transformational leadership, robust organizational structures, and a participatory organizational culture. The proposed conceptual model offers a framework for policymakers and institutional leaders to advance sustainability grounded in Islamic values, emphasizing a systemic approach from values to practices.

Future research should investigate the application of the proposed conceptual model in diverse Islamic educational contexts, examining the specific mechanisms through which ecotheological values are translated into organizational practices. Further studies are needed to explore the role of Islamic finance and economic principles in supporting sustainable campus development and green initiatives within Islamic institutions. Additionally, research should focus on developing and evaluating professional development programs for educators and leaders to enhance their capacity to integrate ecotheology and sustainability into curricula and institutional governance, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship within the Islamic tradition. These investigations will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of how Islamic educational institutions can effectively address the global environmental crisis and promote a sustainable future.
