The students experience difficulties in writing descriptive text, specifically in generic structure, grammar, and spelling. These difficulties stem from a lack of proficiency in text production skills, insufficient knowledge of the descriptive text subject matter, and a lack of interest in learning English. Therefore, addressing these issues is crucial for improving students descriptive writing abilities.

Further research could investigate the effectiveness of different pedagogical approaches, such as incorporating more visual aids or collaborative writing activities, to address the students difficulties in understanding and applying the generic structure of descriptive texts. Additionally, studies could explore the impact of targeted grammar instruction, focusing on common errors identified in student writing, on improving their grammatical accuracy and fluency. Finally, research is needed to understand how to increase student motivation and engagement in English language learning, potentially through the use of more relevant and engaging writing topics or the integration of technology-based learning tools, to foster a more positive attitude towards writing descriptive texts and enhance their overall writing proficiency. These investigations should consider the students learning styles and preferences to tailor interventions effectively and promote long-term improvement in their writing skills.
