This study assessed the impacts of Green Products on the performance and sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Abuja. A survey research methodology was employed, collecting opinions from 322 respondents using a structured questionnaire. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics, with hypothesis testing using correlation and regression analysis. The findings revealed a strong impact of green products on SME performance and sustainability (R-value of 0.684, p-value of 0.000). The 48.1% explanatory power suggests that enhancing green product development will likely lead to notable improvements in SME performance and sustainability. The study concludes that green product development and marketing have emerged as a strategic imperative aligning businesses with sustainable development principles, specifically SDG 12 (Responsible consumption and production).

The study demonstrates a direct positive impact of green products on the performance and sustainability of SMEs in Abuja.Green marketing practices have evolved into a powerful tool that extends beyond mere profit considerations, aligning businesses with the principles of sustainable development and SDG 12.Therefore, SMEs in Abuja should prioritize integrating eco-friendly technologies and practices to enhance their business performance and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Further research should investigate the specific eco-friendly technologies and practices most effective for enhancing SME performance in Abuja, considering the unique challenges and opportunities within the local context. Additionally, studies could explore the role of government policies and incentives in promoting the adoption of green practices among SMEs, examining their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. Finally, research is needed to understand how SMEs can effectively communicate their sustainability efforts to consumers, building trust and fostering demand for green products and services, potentially focusing on the impact of eco-labeling and certifications on consumer purchasing decisions. These investigations will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of how to foster a thriving and sustainable SME sector in Abuja and beyond, supporting economic growth while minimizing environmental impact and promoting social responsibility.
