Tourism villages contribute significantly to Balis economic development by promoting rural entrepreneurship. However, the sector faces challenges such as low product quality, ineffective marketing, and competition from low-cost imported products. This study explores collaboration and diversification strategies to ensure the economic sustainability of Balis village tourism and rural businesses. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using the SWOT method to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The results highlight the importance of community involvement, partnership networks, creative product development, effective marketing, and long-term business management. Findings from four villages indicate that collaboration with local industries and sustainable tourism initiatives enhances community income. To support sustainable tourism and improve community welfare, it is recommended that the government and stakeholders strengthen the promotion of local products and maximize the cultural and economic potential of villages.

Conclusion

Balis tourist villages thrive through strategic collaborations between entrepreneurs, communities, the government, and academic institutions, fostering economic resilience and cultural preservation.The successful diversification of local products, such as woven baskets, jewelry, and traditional textiles, demonstrates their adaptability to market demands and sustainability potential.These strategic partnerships contribute to improved product quality, effective marketing, and increased income for local communities, strengthening Balis tourism ecosystem.

Future Research

Future research should investigate the potential of integrating digital technology to enhance the competitiveness of local products in global markets and explore strategies for optimizing the role of academic collaborations in developing innovative tourism offerings. Expanding on current studies, further investigations could focus on the long-term socioeconomic impact of tourism village development on local communities and the effectiveness of various governmental policies in promoting sustainable tourism practices. Additionally, comparative studies examining collaboration patterns in Balinese tourist villages versus those in other regions would provide valuable insights for fostering best practices and enhancing the overall sustainability of rural tourism ecosystems, considering the specific challenges and opportunities presented by climate change and evolving tourist preferences.
