Absenteeism has emerged as a critical indicator of individual well-being and institutional effectiveness, particularly within educational and organizational settings. Defined as the habitual non-attendance at work or school without valid justification, absenteeism reflects deeper psychosocial and structural issues that merit rigorous investigation. This research uses theoretical review to analysis connection between depression, harassment, gender, and absenteeism. This research presents that depression, harassment, and gender significantly influence absenteeism through complex interconnected mechanisms. Absenteeism should be recognized as an aspect related to performance.

Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi secara mendalam mekanisme kompleks yang menghubungkan depresi, pelecehan, gender, dan absensi, dengan mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor kontekstual seperti budaya organisasi dan norma sosial. Studi longitudinal yang melibatkan pengukuran berulang dari variabel-variabel ini akan sangat berharga untuk memahami hubungan sebab-akibat dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor risiko yang dapat dimodifikasi. Selain itu, penelitian kualitatif yang mendalam, seperti wawancara dan studi kasus, dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih kaya tentang pengalaman individu yang mengalami depresi, pelecehan, dan absensi, serta bagaimana mereka berinteraksi dengan sistem dukungan yang ada.
