This study aims to determine . The approach and type of research used are qualitative research approaches and types of descriptive research, using data collection techniques that are carried out using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis techniques carried out are data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that work stress in Employees in the Apparatus Performance and Awards Division at the Regional Civil Service Agency of South Sulawesi Province exists because there are tasks that cannot be predicted in number and there are obstacles in their completion, there are also employees who increase working hours, in addition to the lack of adequate facilities such as computers, printers and slow internet connections so that it can hinder the work of employees and there are also employees who Given responsibilities outside their field so that it can cause work stress for employees. In personal factors, one of which includes family problems, employees who must divide between work and family responsibilities which cause concentration disorders and difficult time management because they have to divide work and responsibilities for their families.

Conclusion

The research indicates a mild level of work stress among employees in the Apparatus Performance and Awards Division of the Regional Civil Service Agency of South Sulawesi Province.This is attributed to varying and sometimes unpredictable workloads, though employees generally manage to complete their tasks.While time pressure is generally effective, some employees increase working hours to meet deadlines.The work environment is generally conducive, despite some facility limitations, and employees generally understand their responsibilities, even when assigned tasks outside their primary field.However, personal factors, such as balancing work and family responsibilities, contribute to stress.

Future Research

Further research could explore the effectiveness of stress management training programs specifically tailored for civil service employees in South Sulawesi, considering the unique challenges of unpredictable workloads and dual responsibilities. Additionally, a comparative study examining work stress levels across different divisions within the Regional Civil Service Agency could identify specific areas requiring targeted interventions. Finally, investigating the impact of improved infrastructure, such as reliable internet access and updated equipment, on employee stress and productivity would provide valuable insights for resource allocation and organizational development. These studies should utilize both quantitative and qualitative methods to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to work stress and potential solutions, ultimately aiming to enhance employee well-being and organizational performance within the context of the South Sulawesi provincial government.
