This study aims to determine the effect of using rubber tree seeds as a partial substitute for coarse aggregate on concrete compressive strength. The research was conducted through preliminary tests on the physical properties of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and rubber seeds, including bulk density, moisture content, and gradation. Subsequently, concrete mix design (K-225) was carried out using cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 15 cm and height of 30 cm, tested for compressive strength at 7, 14, and 28 days. The mix variations were 0% (normal concrete), 5%, and 10% rubber seeds by weight of coarse aggregate. The results showed that adding rubber seeds reduced concrete compressive strength. The average compressive strength at 28 days for normal concrete was 17.13 MPa, 15.50 MPa for 5% variation, and 12.24 MPa for 10% variation. The reduction in compressive strength is caused by the smooth and waterproof surface of rubber seeds, which reduces the bond between aggregate and cement paste. The 5% variation showed a 9.5% decrease, while the 10% variation showed a 28.5% decrease compared to normal concrete. Concrete with 5% rubber seed mixture can be considered for non-structural buildings, while 10% variation is not recommended. The study indicates that rubber seeds have potential as an alternative aggregate material, although strength considerations are necessary.

Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan biji karet sebagai substitusi agregat kasar mengurangi kuat tekan beton.Variasi 5% biji karet masih layak untuk bangunan non-struktural, sedangkan 10% tidak direkomendasikan.Biji karet memiliki potensi sebagai bahan alternatif agregat, tetapi perlu pertimbangan dari segi kekuatan.Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan biji karet dan memahami dampak jangka panjang terhadap karakteristik beton.

Penelitian lanjutan dapat mengkaji penggunaan jenis limbah karet lainnya, seperti karet daur ulang, untuk substitusi agregat kasar. Selain itu, penelitian tentang pengaruh jangka panjang biji karet terhadap ketahanan beton terhadap cuaca ekstrem perlu dilakukan. Selanjutnya, studi tentang optimasi proporsi biji karet dalam campuran beton untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara kekuatan dan sifat lingkungan juga menjadi arah penelitian yang menarik.
