This study examines the role of strategic management in corporate strategy transformation within Indonesias electricity companies in responding to industry uncertainty. Using annual reports as the primary data source, this research applies qualitative thematic analysis to identify strategic patterns related to transformation, digitalization, and corporate governance. The findings reveal that strategic management serves as a fundamental guiding framework that enables firms to design and implement corporate strategy transformation in a structured and consistent manner. Corporate strategy transformation functions as a key mediating mechanism that translates strategic planning into resilience. Furthermore, the study finds that digitalization and good corporate governance act as reinforcing factors that strengthen the effectiveness of strategic transformation by improving decision-making quality, operational efficiency, accountability, and stakeholder trust. Collectively, strategic management, transformation, digitalization, and corporate governance form an integrated strategic system that enhances organizational resilience amid regulatory, technological, and market uncertainty. This study contributes to the strategic management literature by emphasizing the importance of transformation in sustaining adaptability and enabling capabilities and performance within highly regulated and uncertain industries, particularly the electricity sector in emerging economies.

The study concludes that strategic management is a fundamental guiding framework for corporate strategy transformation in Indonesias electricity sector.This transformation is not merely reactive but proactively builds organizational resilience to industry uncertainty.Digitalization and good corporate governance are crucial reinforcing factors that enhance the effectiveness of this transformation.These elements collectively form an integrated strategic system that improves organizational adaptability and performance in a highly regulated and uncertain environment.

Future research should explore the nuanced interplay between strategic management practices and the specific technological capabilities adopted by electricity companies, moving beyond general digitalization to investigate the impact of specific technologies like smart grids and AI on organizational performance. Furthermore, a comparative study across different regulatory contexts within Southeast Asia could reveal how varying policy environments influence the effectiveness of corporate strategy transformation in the electricity sector. Finally, investigating the role of human capital development – specifically, the skills and training needed to implement and manage digital transformation initiatives – is crucial, as a lack of skilled personnel could hinder the successful execution of strategic plans and limit the potential benefits of technological advancements. These research directions will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of how Indonesian electricity companies can navigate industry uncertainty and achieve sustainable growth in the evolving energy landscape.
