The development of human civilization to the information age and globalization shows how big the changes are due to business people to live their lives better. Everyone plays a vital role in helping a group, organization, or society to achieve its goals. People who have great talents or qualities are expected to become leaders, such as charisma, foresight, power of persuasion, and intensity. Ones emotional management has an important role to make their existence recognized by the environment. The current phenomenon of emotional intelligence becomes a major topic in the work field because it contributes to workers. This study focuses on Lecturers of the Accounting Study Program of Private Universities in the Province of Bali. The sample in this study amounted to 182 people. This study aims to analyze the effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of lecturers in the accounting study program at private universities in Bali Province. The data collection method used is a questionnaire. The analysis includes an instrument test, classical assumption test, normality test, linear regression, hypothesis testing, and coefficient of determination test using simple regression analysis with SPSS 14.0 for Windows program. The results show that emotional intelligence positively affects the performance of lecturers in the Accounting Study Program.

The results of the study indicate a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and lecturer performance.It is crucial to enhance the emotional intelligence of lecturers to improve their performance.Further research should consider expanding the sample size and exploring other variables that influence lecturer performance, such as motivation, work environment, and compensation.

Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini, beberapa saran penelitian lanjutan dapat diajukan. Pertama, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan dengan memperluas cakupan partisipan, tidak hanya terbatas pada universitas swasta di Bali, tetapi juga melibatkan universitas negeri dan universitas di provinsi lain untuk meningkatkan generalisasi hasil penelitian. Kedua, penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggali lebih dalam faktor-faktor lain yang mungkin memoderasi atau memediasi hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kinerja dosen, seperti gaya kepemimpinan, iklim organisasi, atau dukungan sosial dari rekan kerja. Ketiga, penelitian kualitatif dapat dilakukan untuk memahami secara lebih mendalam bagaimana dosen mengaplikasikan kecerdasan emosional mereka dalam praktik sehari-hari, termasuk dalam proses pembelajaran, interaksi dengan mahasiswa, dan pengambilan keputusan, sehingga dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih kaya dan kontekstual mengenai fenomena ini. Penelitian-penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan teori dan praktik terkait peningkatan kinerja dosen dan kualitas pendidikan tinggi.
