This study examines the role of destination image in mediating the impact of service quality on tourists purchasing decisions for Dolphin tour packages at Lovina Beach, North Bali. Fluctuations in tourist visits from 2019 to 2022 have affected the Dolphin Tour business, with poor service quality discouraging potential customers. This research employs a quantitative approach using purposive sampling, with 150 respondents who purchased Dolphin tour packages. Data collection was conducted through direct questionnaires, and analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) via Smart PLS 3.0. The results indicate a significant direct and indirect effect of service quality on purchasing decisions through destination image. This suggests that improving service quality enhances the destination image, ultimately increasing tourist interest in purchasing Dolphin tour packages. The findings highlight the need for Dolphin tourism service providers to enhance service quality to attract more visitors and sustain the industry.

Based on the research results, service quality has a positive and significant effect on the decision to purchase a dolphin tour package.Moreover, service quality also positively and significantly influences the destination image and destination image has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions.Finally, destination image partially mediates the influence of service quality on purchasing decisions.This highlights the importance of maintaining excellent service quality to sustain the industry and attract more tourists.

Penelitian lebih lanjut sebaiknya berfokus pada analisis mendalam mengenai faktor-faktor spesifik dalam kualitas layanan yang paling berpengaruh terhadap citra destinasi Lovina, termasuk pelatihan dan pemberdayaan penyedia layanan pariwisata. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan studi komparatif antara Lovina dengan destinasi wisata bahari lain di Indonesia untuk mengidentifikasi praktik terbaik dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan dan citra destinasi. Sebagai tambahan, penelitian dapat mengeksplorasi peran strategi pemasaran digital dan media sosial dalam membentuk citra destinasi Lovina dan mendorong keputusan pembelian, dengan mempertimbangkan perilaku dan preferensi wisatawan modern yang semakin terhubung secara online. Studi mendalam mengenai dampak keberlanjutan lingkungan terhadap citra destinasi dan keputusan pembelian wisatawan juga diperlukan, untuk memastikan bahwa pengembangan pariwisata di Lovina tetap bertanggung jawab dan melestarikan keindahan alamnya bagi generasi mendatang. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan dapat diperoleh wawasan yang lebih komprehensif mengenai dinamika pariwisata di Lovina dan menghasilkan rekomendasi yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan daya saing dan keberlanjutan destinasi tersebut.
